Getting started
6 answers
Do I need an account to use Caribbsearch?
You do not need an account to browse public listings, search, or view Business Profiles. You need a free account when you want to create a listing, save a Favorite or search, message another member, create a Business Profile, or manage your own activity.
How do I create an account?
Select Create account at the top of the site, or use the sign-up form on the page if one is shown. Enter your display name, an email address you can open, and a password with at least 12 characters. Accept the Terms and Privacy Policy, select Create account, then verify your email before using the member tools.
Why do I need to verify my email?
Verification proves that the email address belongs to you and helps protect your account. Open the verification email from Caribbsearch and select its link. If the message does not arrive, return to the verification page and request another one before trying to create listings or use other member tools.
What if I forgot my password?
Select Forgot password on the sign-in page and enter the email used for your account. Caribbsearch will send a private reset link if the account can use password recovery. Open that link, choose a new password, and then sign in with the new password.
Is it free to join?
Yes. Creating an account is free, and creating, publishing, and renewing a standard listing is also free. You pay only if you choose an optional Featured Listing or Sponsored Ad. Those are one-time visibility purchases, not required memberships or subscriptions.
Where do I manage my account?
Sign in and open Account settings from your member menu. That area lets you update your public profile information, request an email change, change your password, choose optional notifications, deactivate your account, or permanently delete it when no paid activity blocks closure.
Browsing and searching
4 answers
How do I find listings?
Open Browse and enter a word that describes what you need. Use the type, category, country, location, price, and other available filters to narrow the results. Open any result to read the full description, check its location and price, and see the available contact action.
How do Favorites work?
Sign in, open a listing, and select Favorite to save it in your member area. A Favorite is only a private bookmark. It does not contact the owner, reserve the item, hold the price, stop other people from responding, or keep the listing live. Contact the owner directly to ask if it is still available.
What is a Saved Search?
A Saved Search remembers the search words and filters you chose, so you do not have to rebuild the same search later. After signing in, save the search from the results page. Open Saved Searches to run it again, review its filters, or delete it.
Why can I not find a listing I saw before?
The listing may have expired, been paused, been marked completed, been archived, or been removed after review. It may also no longer match your current filters. Clear your filters and search the title again; if it is still missing, it is not currently public.
Listings
13 answers
How do I create a listing?
Sign in and select Create listing. First choose the listing type, country, local area, and category. Next add the title, description, price or contact-for-price choice, and any details required for that type. Add one clear image, review the private preview, and select Publish when everything is correct.
Are standard listings free?
Yes. There is no charge to create, publish, or renew a standard listing. A standard listing can include one image and normally stays live for 30 days. Featured placement is optional and costs extra; you do not need it to publish an eligible listing.
What image can I add to a listing?
You can upload one JPG, PNG, or WebP image. Use a clear image that shows the real item, service, property, event, or opportunity, and only upload an image you have permission to use. The listing form shows the current file-size and dimension limits before you upload.
How long does a listing stay live?
Most standard listings stay live for 30 days from publication. Caribbsearch sends reminders before expiration, and an eligible listing can be renewed for free. Event listings are different: they cannot stay live after the event end date, even if 30 days have not passed.
How do I renew a listing?
Open My listings, select the listing, and use Renew when the button appears during its renewal window or after expiration. Check that the title, price, description, location, and image are still accurate, then confirm the renewal. Renewal is free and adds up to another 30 days, subject to event dates and review rules.
Can I post more than one listing?
Yes. One account can manage multiple standard listings, and each standard listing is free. Create a separate listing for each different item, job, property, event, service, or request so visitors can understand exactly what each listing offers. Duplicate flooding and misleading copies are not allowed.
Can I save a listing without publishing it?
Yes. Choose Save and exit while creating the listing, and it will remain a private draft. Nobody can find or message you about a draft. Return to My listings, open the draft, finish the missing details, review it, and publish it when you are ready.
Can I edit a listing after publishing?
The current workflow lets you edit drafts, listings with Changes requested, rejected listings, and expired listings. A live listing is locked to protect the details visitors already saw. If important information on a live listing is wrong, pause it so it is hidden and create a corrected listing rather than leaving inaccurate information public.
How do I pause, complete, or archive a listing?
Open My listings and choose the action that matches what happened. Use Pause to hide a live listing temporarily, then Reactivate if it becomes available again. Use Mark completed when the item sold or the offer ended. Completed, rejected, or expired listings can be archived to remove them from your working list. Archiving does not permanently delete the record.
Why is my submission waiting for review?
The automatic safety check could not confidently approve the listing, found something that needs a closer look, or was temporarily unavailable. The listing stays private while a staff member reviews it. You do not need to submit it again; watch My listings and your notifications for the decision or a request for changes.
What does Changes requested mean?
It means a staff member found something you can correct before the listing goes live. Open the listing from My listings and read the staff note. Fix the named problem, check the rest of the listing for accuracy, and publish it again so the updated version can be checked.
Can I appeal a rejected or removed listing?
Yes, when the listing page shows the appeal form and no appeal is already waiting. Explain what decision you want reviewed and why you believe the listing follows the rules. Send the appeal once; the listing stays private until staff reviews it, and an appeal does not promise approval.
What types of listings are allowed?
Caribbsearch supports items, businesses and services, events, jobs, real estate, vehicles, wanted posts, and community notices. Your listing must be lawful, accurate, safe, available, and something you have the right to offer. Scams, stolen or counterfeit goods, prohibited weapons, exploitation, hateful abuse, malware, and other banned content are not allowed.
Messaging
4 answers
How do I contact someone about a listing?
Sign in with a verified, active account, open the public listing, and select the message button on it. Your first message starts one private conversation about that listing. Open Messages in your member area to read replies and continue talking. Use messaging for genuine questions about the listing, and never send passwords or payment details.
How do I know if my message was read?
Open the conversation under Messages. A message you sent shows Seen after the other member opens and reads it. If Seen is not shown, the message may not have been read yet. Caribbsearch does not guarantee when another member will read or answer a message.
Can I archive a conversation?
Yes. Select Archive from the conversation or inbox to move it out of your main Messages list. Archiving does not delete the messages or block the other member. Open Archived Messages and select Restore if you want the conversation back in your normal inbox.
How do I stay safe when messaging?
Keep the conversation on Caribbsearch when possible so the relevant message can be reported. Never send your password, sign-in code, full card number, bank login, or identity document. Be careful if someone creates urgency, asks for money before you verify the offer, or pressures you to move to another service immediately.
Business Profiles
6 answers
What is a Business Profile?
A Business Profile is a public page that introduces your business or organization. It can show your business name, description, location, contact choices, hours, image, and linked listings. It is separate from a standard listing, so use it for the business itself rather than one item, job, property, or event.
How do I create a Business Profile?
Sign in and open Business Profiles under the Sell section of your member area, then select Create. Enter accurate business and contact information, add an image if you have one, and review the profile before publishing. Clear profiles may go live quickly; anything uncertain waits for staff review.
Can I add a photo and business hours?
Yes. Open your Business Profile manager to add one JPG, PNG, or WebP image and a short image description. You can also add or update the hours shown for each day. Use a current logo or business image and keep the hours accurate so visitors know when you are available.
Can I connect my listings to my Business Profile?
Yes. Open the Business Profile you manage and use its listing section to link one of your own eligible listings. Linked listings help visitors move from the business page to its current offers. You can unlink a listing later without deleting either the listing or the Business Profile.
Does a Business Profile expire?
No. An active Business Profile does not have the 30-day expiration used for standard listings. It stays public until you pause, close, or archive it, or Caribbsearch removes it under the rules. You are responsible for keeping its business details, contact information, and hours accurate.
Can I pause or close my Business Profile?
Yes. Choose Pause when you want to hide the profile temporarily; you can use Reactivate later to make it public again. Choose a closing or archive action when the business has ended or you no longer need the profile. Hidden or archived profiles are not shown in the public business directory.
Promotion
9 answers
Is paid promotion required?
No. An eligible standard listing can be published and renewed for free without buying anything. Featured Listings and Sponsored Ads are optional products for extra visibility. Paying does not improve approval chances, remove the normal rules, or guarantee that anyone will view, contact, or buy from you.
How do I feature a listing?
A Featured Listing gives one eligible standard listing enhanced placement for up to 14 days. On the listing's final review step, select Feature this listing after publishing, then publish and wait for the safety check. Review the $7 one-time order, accept the terms, and continue to secure Stripe checkout. The Featured period starts after payment is verified and does not extend the listing's normal expiration date.
Which listings can be featured?
The listing must belong to you, pass its safety review, and meet every eligibility check shown on the Featured summary page. It also needs enough remaining listing time to receive useful placement. If checkout is blocked, read the reason shown and fix the listing issue before trying again.
What is a Sponsored Ad and what does it cost?
A Sponsored Ad is a separate paid campaign with one image, a short message, an advertiser name, targeting choices, and an approved HTTPS website link. The current price is one payment of $30 for 30 days. It is not a subscription and does not require a standard listing.
When does a Sponsored Ad go live?
The ad must pass content and destination review before checkout becomes available. After you pay, Caribbsearch must verify the payment. The 30-day campaign starts only when both approval and verified payment are recorded; creating a draft, reaching checkout, or returning from the payment provider does not start it by itself.
Can I choose where my ad appears?
Yes. While creating the campaign, you can target approved countries, listing types, or categories. Leave a targeting group set to All when you want the broadest eligible placement in that group. Targeting controls where the ad may appear, but it does not promise a certain number of impressions or clicks.
Can I run an old Sponsored Ad again?
Yes. Open the completed or expired campaign and choose Run again when that action is available. Caribbsearch creates a new draft using reusable details from the old campaign. Review everything carefully: the new campaign needs a new moderation decision and a new payment, and old dates, results, and payment status are not reused.
What results can I see for a Sponsored Ad?
Sponsored Ad owners can see daily aggregate estimated impressions, outbound clicks, and the campaign click rate. These are basic totals, not a list of individual visitors. Advertisers do not receive visitor names, cross-site tracking details, or personal visitor profiles. The numbers describe recorded activity but do not guarantee messages, leads, customers, transactions, or sales.
Does featuring or sponsoring change review?
No. Payment never skips moderation, changes a listing or campaign decision, or gives paid content different safety rules. A listing, Business Profile, or ad can still be paused, removed, or sent to staff review when its content, destination, account activity, or payment state creates a supported concern.
Payments
6 answers
How do payments work?
Caribbsearch charges only for optional Featured Listings and Sponsored Ads. Each purchase is a one-time payment, not a subscription or automatic renewal. Before checkout, review the exact product, price, currency, visibility period, and terms. The promotion begins only after the required approval and server-side payment verification are complete.
Will Caribbsearch save my card number?
No. The configured payment provider collects and handles your full card details on its secure checkout page. Caribbsearch keeps the order amount, currency, provider reference, payment status, and related entitlement records needed to activate the product, prevent duplicate fulfillment, answer billing questions, and handle refunds or disputes.
Why is my payment still being verified?
Caribbsearch received payment information, but one detail did not match the order closely enough for automatic activation. Do not pay again, because that could create another charge. Your order stays on hold while staff checks the records, and the paid visibility starts after the payment is confirmed.
What happens if I leave checkout?
Leaving or canceling the checkout page does not start the promotion and does not by itself prove that a payment succeeded. Open your Featured orders or Sponsored Ad orders to check the current status. If the existing checkout can be continued, use that option instead of creating a second order.
Do you offer refunds?
Paid visibility is generally final after delivery begins, and poor results or a change of mind is not a normal refund reason. Caribbsearch may review a confirmed duplicate charge, a platform failure that prevented delivery, some cancellations before delivery, an unauthorized charge, or a refund required by law. Approval depends on the payment and delivery records.
Does payment guarantee views, messages, or sales?
No. Payment buys eligible placement for the stated time period. It does not promise a minimum number of impressions, views, clicks, messages, inquiries, leads, customers, transactions, revenue, or sales. Results depend on the offer, audience, timing, targeting, marketplace activity, and other factors outside a visibility purchase.
Account and privacy
7 answers
How do notifications work?
In-app notifications tell you about important account and marketplace activity, such as messages, listing decisions, and saved-search results. Open Notifications to read them or mark them as read. Open Account settings to choose which optional email notices you want; important service or security messages may still be sent when needed.
How do I change my email address?
Sign in, open Account settings, and choose the email option. Enter the new address and follow the confirmation steps. The old address remains on the account until the change is safely completed, and the new address may need to be verified before you can use it to sign in.
How do I change my password?
Sign in, open Account settings, and choose the password or security option. Enter your current password, then enter and confirm a new password with at least 12 characters. After the change, use the new password for future sign-ins and keep it private.
Is my information private?
Your account credentials and private settings are not displayed as public marketplace content. Information you choose to publish in a listing, Business Profile, or Sponsored Ad is public. Messages are limited to their participants unless a report requires authorized review. Read the Privacy Policy for how account, moderation, payment, analytics, and retained records are handled.
How do I deactivate or delete my account?
Open Account settings and choose Deactivate for a temporary closure or Delete for a permanent one. Enter your current password and the requested confirmation word. Deactivation blocks sign-in and hides your public content, but you can reactivate later with the same email and password. Deletion anonymizes the account permanently and cannot be undone. Active or unresolved paid activity must end or be resolved before either closure can continue.
What happens to my listings when I deactivate my account?
Your public listings and Business Profiles are hidden when the account is deactivated, and you cannot use the member area until you reactivate. Signing in with the same email and password reactivates the account. Hidden content is not automatically republished, so review each item and use its available action when you are ready.
What happens to my information after deletion?
Deletion anonymizes your account identity and disconnects or removes public content as the current workflow allows. Caribbsearch may keep limited payment, security, audit, Trust and Safety, and shared-message records when they are needed for legal, safety, dispute, or operational reasons. The deleted account cannot be restored.
Trust and Safety
8 answers
How do I report a problem?
Sign in and open the listing, Business Profile, Sponsored Ad, or conversation that shows the problem. For a conversation, select Report beside the specific message. Choose the closest reason, add only useful facts, and send the report once. Reports are private and do not automatically remove content or members. Do not include passwords or full payment details. Use local emergency services first if anyone faces immediate danger.
What happens after I send a report?
The report is private and enters the Trust and Safety review process. A report is information, not automatic proof, so it does not remove content by itself. Staff may take no action, investigate further, restrict or remove content, or act on an account when the available evidence supports that decision.
How do I stay safe in a transaction?
Confirm the real item, service, person, price, condition, location, and payment terms before agreeing or paying. For an in-person meeting, use a public place when practical and tell someone where you are going. Do not send money just to reserve something you have not verified. Caribbsearch does not guarantee member-to-member transactions.
What information should I protect?
Never place passwords, one-time sign-in codes, full card numbers, card security codes, bank logins, or identity documents in a listing, message, report, or Ask Kim question. Share only the contact and marketplace details needed for the conversation. A real Caribbsearch member should not need your account password or verification code.
How do automated checks and staff review work?
Submitted public text and processed images may be checked by automated safety tools. Clearly acceptable content can be approved automatically. Anything concerning, uncertain, or not successfully checked goes to authorized staff. The automated system cannot make the final rejection decision. Staff may approve it, request changes, reject it, or act later when a report or new evidence supports another review.
What should I do if someone is trying to scam me?
Stop the conversation and do not send money, codes, banking details, or identity documents. Save the relevant information, then report the listing, ad, profile, or exact message through Caribbsearch so staff can review it. Contact your payment provider quickly if you already paid, and contact local authorities when appropriate.
What should I do in an emergency?
Caribbsearch is not an emergency service and cannot provide immediate on-site help. If someone is in danger, a threat is happening now, or a crime needs an urgent response, contact the local emergency service or police first. You can report the related Caribbsearch content afterward for platform review.
How do I get more help?
Search this Help Center using a few clear words or browse the topic that matches your problem. You can also ask Kim one specific Caribbsearch question. Kim uses only the approved Help Center and public policies; if those sources do not contain the answer, she will say it is not covered instead of guessing.
Ask Kim
5 answers
What can I ask Kim?
Ask one specific question about using Caribbsearch, such as how to create or renew a listing, manage an account, send a message, report a concern, buy promotion, or understand a policy. Kim searches the approved Help Center and public policy pages, then explains only what those sources support.
Can Kim see my account or payment?
No. Kim cannot open your account, see your listings or messages, check an order, confirm a charge, or change any status. She can explain the normal steps and tell you where to look. Check My listings, your promotion orders, Notifications, or Account settings for information tied to your account.
What should I not tell Kim?
Do not enter your password, sign-in or verification code, full card number, card security code, bank login, identity document, private message text, or other sensitive personal information. Kim does not need those details to explain Caribbsearch. Ask a general question without names, account numbers, or private transaction information.
Why did Kim say my question is not covered?
Kim answers only when the Help Center or public policies contain enough information. Try asking one shorter, specific Caribbsearch question using the name of the feature, such as listing renewal or Sponsored Ad payment. If Kim still says it is not covered, the approved help content does not currently provide a reliable answer.
Why did Kim ask me to wait before asking again?
Caribbsearch limits how many questions can be sent in a short time to keep Ask Kim available and prevent automated abuse. Wait a few minutes before trying again. While you wait, use Help Center search or browse the topic sections; sending the same question repeatedly will not make the limit end sooner.
